Diehl Defence presented an upgraded version of the Garmr MRS anti-drone system at Enforce Tac 2026, significantly expanding its operational capabilities.
The new configuration marks the evolution of the former Kinetic Defence Vehicle, which has already been combat-tested in Ukraine and is now repositioned as a medium-range air defense solution.
The main novelty is the increase in range to up to 70 kilometers, made possible by the integration of new interceptor drones. The system is now capable of operating against Class II unmanned aerial vehicles weighing up to 600 kg, expanding the protected area and enabling coverage of large strategic zones.
During the exhibition, two interception options were demonstrated: the compact Cicada drone, developed by the company itself, capable of neutralizing targets at distances of over 5 kilometers using nets, and the Hornet Block 2 from Destinus, which can engage aerial threats at distances exceeding 70 kilometers.
Installed on the Enok AB platform — manufactured by ACS Armoured Car Systems and based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class chassis — the Garmr MRS also received improvements in sensors, software, and connectivity. The new architecture allows integration into higher-level air defense networks and coordinated operation among multiple vehicles, significantly increasing its effectiveness on the battlefield.
